Fruits grow upwards rather than hang down from the stems. The plant looks like an upright bush and reaches heights of around 1 metre. The fruits are small, only around 2.5-3cm long by 1cm wide, and they change colour from light yellow to green to orange before ripening fully red. The chillis have a scoville heat rating of 30,000 – 50,000 SHU.

Although the fruits are small, around 2.5-4cm long and 2-3cm wide, they are very hot and have a strong smell. To help reduce the spice, removing the seeds can help. Often used in Caribbean cooking as they originate from Jamaica. The plants are bushy and reach heights of around 50cm.
