Echinacea Purpurea (Purple Coneflower) makes for a splendid sight when planted in clumps. The blooms produced are large purple red flowers with orange centres. The flowers are attractive to bees and other pollinators. This drought tolerant variety makes for a lovely cut flower and flowers from June to September at an approximate height of 90-100cm.

Where to Sow
Sow in pots or trays in a greenhouse at 18-21°C, lightly cover seed with vermiculite and keep soil lightly moist but not wet.
What to do Next
Transplant into 7.5cm (3″) pots. Then 6-8 weeks after germination transplant outside at 30 x 30cm (12 x 12″) spacings.
