Where to Sow

Sow the seeds under cover onto the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover seed with a light sprinkling of compost or vermiculite and place at a temperature between 15-20°C (59-68°F).

What to do Next

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into pots or trays. Then gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, 30cm (12″) apart. For best results, grow in any ordinary, well drained soil in full sun. Overwinter autumn sown plants in a cold frame and plant out the following spring.
